Hong Kong

If you have the opportunity to visit Hong Kong, whether for business or a vacation, you are in for a treat. This ancient land of mystic and mystery, today is a blend of east meets west.  A blending of cultures from Asia and Europe.

Cantonese is the main language of Hong Kong. If you are visiting and worried about communication, worry no more. Most people there also speak English, since Hong Kong was once an English territory. Most people are actually bilingual.

Most Hong Kong people are hard working and detail oriented. They are globalized, working well with those from other cultures. Their adaptability and work ethic are what makes Hong Kong such a business empire. The people frown on wasting time, but believe in doing things quickly and orderly.

Education is a priority among the people of Hong Kong. Children attend public school through the age of 15. Most people go on to some other form of higher education. Many who are able to afford it often choose to attend an university in such places as Canada, Britain or the United States.

Customs of etiquette can and will be different from what you may be use to. Take time to learn about the culture of the people before you go, so that you do not make any grievous mistakes. Be respectful and courteous, should you make a mistake, most will graciously forgive.

As you make your journey to Hong Kong, go with an open mind. Do not judge their way of doing something to be right or wrong, just different. Overall, go expecting to learn new things
